Animated neon signs. When still glass comes to life
LIGHT THAT COMES TO LIFE
An animated neon sign is a lighting installation in which a planned sequence of switching independent elements on and off creates the illusion of movement. A running dog, a dancer moving her arms or a figure making a distinctive gesture appear to come to life, even though the glass tubes remain still. It is a way to combine classic discharge-tube technology with the effect of movement, without mechanical drives.
Unlike a static sign, animated neon shows not only a shape but also an action. Successive lighting phases catch the eye, spark curiosity and encourage a second look. Among numerous advertisements and signs, movement can help a storefront stand out, highlight a venue’s character or make a façade more recognizable.
