HOTELS, RESTAURANTS AND LEISURE

Signage for hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities combines place identification with wayfinding information. A façade sign, an entrance marker and a logo at reception identify the venue. Directional signs point the way, while room numbering helps guests find the right room. PRETENDE designs, manufactures and installs signage systems for hotels, resorts, restaurants and SPAs. We select materials, production techniques, typography and lighting to suit the architecture and character of each place.

A CLEAR ROUTE FROM THE ENTRANCE TO EVERY AREA OF THE PROPERTY

Signage legibility depends on letter size and style, contrast, lighting and viewing distance. A spatial orientation system, or wayfinding, accounts for routes between the car park, reception, rooms, restaurant, SPA and conference rooms. We plan sign placement at decision points where guests choose a direction: by entrances, lifts and corridor intersections. Room numbers, logos, dimensional lettering and illuminated elements are tailored to the property’s visual identity, architecture and finish standard.

SIGNAGE BY DAY AND AFTER DARK

By day, the appearance of signage is defined by colour, material texture, reflections and the shadows cast by the letters. After dark, the key factors are the colour, brightness and evenness of the illumination. Sign legibility depends on letter size and typeface, as well as contrast with the surroundings. When designing signage, we take into account viewing distance and direction, the lighting of the building, and the effect of the signage illumination on the appearance of the façade and interiors.

FROM DESIGN TO INSTALLATION

The starting point may be a visual identity manual, an interior design, architectural documentation, a ready-made concept or the need to organise the signage in an existing building. At the technical design stage, we select materials, the structure, fixings and lighting. We take production technology, transport and installation conditions into account. This ensures that the signage is suited to the building and how it is used. For chains and franchises, we can develop standards for signage materials, finishes and installation across future locations.

A STANDARD THAT’S VISIBLE EVERY DAY

Guests rely on signage in the lobby, corridors, restaurant, SPA and car park. Its quality is evident in the details: the edges of the letters, surface finish, evenness of illumination and precision of installation. The durability and ease of maintenance of signage also depend on the materials used, access to components and servicing options. At PRETENDE, we tailor signage to the architecture and character of the interiors, taking into account the intensity of use and surrounding conditions.

WE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RESULT

If a system we produce does not meet the approved design and agreed execution standard, we will bring it into compliance at our own expense. Before accepting an order, we assess whether it can be carried out. We undertake projects that we can deliver in line with the agreed requirements and standards, and take responsibility for the result.
